Samwaad / The Shape of Memory

This body of work grows from my deep fascination with the cultural life of tea—not as an object, but as an experience. Across India, tea transcends boundaries of class, caste, religion, geography and time. It belongs equally to the roadside tea stall and the drawing room, to the farmer and the bureaucrat, to strangers meeting for the first time and families gathering after years apart. It quietly accompanies every stage of life without demanding attention for itself. The kettle becomes the central metaphor of this series.

Like the human body that carries the soul, the kettle contains an invisible essence that nourishes relationships and human connections. It holds stories before they are spoken, silence before conversation, comfort before healing and warmth before belonging. It is a humble object that witnesses countless moments without ever becoming their subject.
